The South African regions geography can be thought of as beautiful to look at them and also very dangerous to be in. The geography varies from the long Zambezi River to the beautiful coastal plains. Whether you’re in a rainforest or on high plateau, you will always be affected by the geography. This proved to be true for the southern African people, because they had to learn to adapt and to survive in the place they were in.
One of the key geographical features in the southern African region is the Zambezi river. Being more than 2700 m long it is a steady supply for lots of the necessities that the local people might need. For example it can give them a steady supply of water and also a really good trade route. A mountain on itself is a huge geographical obstacle on its own but the one in Lesotho is truly a giant. Thabana Ntlenyana has an altitude of 11424 ft which puts it at the top of the mountains in the south African region.
The mountain has freezing temperatures that in some places reach below freezing. This makes it really hard for the local people to do much of anything but they find a way to make a living by making agricultural products. It all depends on were you are in southern Africa because you could go from a place like a high plateau were it has a high altitude and lots of wind, or a coastal plain were it has a low altitude but a very humid and hot temperature.
The geography in southern Africa is very diverse which makes it hard for t he local people to adapt and survive.Even though, they are still working very hard to adapt to the ever changing enviornment. They still do so with great excellence in that regard. Over thousands of years they have perfected the methods and used them to good use.
